J.CO Cebu Will Officially Open On September 2: What’s In It For Cebuanos?

“Dad-i kog J.CO donuts inig balik nimo sa Cebu!” (Bring J.CO donuts when you’re coming back to Cebu.)

I frequently hear this when somebody goes to Manila.

I frequently see similar statements on social media as well.

“There’s must be something about their donuts,” I told myself.

Why else would people be craving for them if they’re not great, right?

Perhaps a lot of Cebuanos prayed that a branch of J.CO will soon open.

I guess God has heard their prayers!

J.CO will not open one but two branches in Cebu and they will be officially open to the public tomorrow, September 2, 2014.

With all the buzz that’s been circulating around, a question came in to my mind.

“What’s in it for Cebuanos?”

Thankfully, the Cebu Bloggers Society were invited to an exclusive, first-hand, pre-opening J.CO Donuts and Coffee experience, so answering this question would be a breeze for me.

If you are wondering what the answer is, I can actually give you 3 reasons.

1. Cebuanos can enjoy innovative donut variants, coffee cups, and frozen yogurt made by J.CO Cebu.

In J.CO, Alcapone is not a person.

It’s their signature donut made of soft-bite donut topped with luscious white Belgian chocolate and roasted Californian almond slices.

If the description is not enough to make you drool, let my first-hand experience do it for you.

Yes, the donut is very soft and the almond slices complement the white Belgian chocolate, making the texture more crunchy and interesting.

Guess what the best part is?

You have a wide-array of donut choices!

Jcoccino, J.CO’s signature cappuccino blend, is definitely a must-try for coffee lovers.

The interesting taste can be attributed to the Sumatra – Sulawesi coffee beans, which give off a flavor that’s not as heavy or full-bodied compared to African or Brazilian coffee beans.

It was Alejandro Mendez, 2011 World Barista Champion, who formulated Jcoccino for J.CO.

2. J.CO Cebu is going to give awesome freebies!

If you’re a J.CO fanatic and you know it, clap your hands! (clap clap clap!)

Try to wake up early tomorrow because free donuts will be given away to the first 50 customers in 2 of their branches.

  • J.CO SM City Cebu: Lower Ground Floor, SM City Cebu, North Reclamation Area, Cebu City
  • J.CO Ayala Center Cebu: Level 1, The Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu, Cebu Park District, Cebu City

If you are luckier, you might be given a gracious 1-year supply of J.CO donuts and coffee.

The 1-year supply is only applicable to the first 3 J.CO-ers. (I guess you should wake up very early at dawn for this.)

3. If you will support J.CO Cebu, you will be supporting a brand that’s made in Southeast Asia.

Yes!

J.CO is made in Asia!

Not everybody knows that it all started in Indonesia back in 2005.

Thanks to Johnny Andrean, an entrepreneur from Indonesia, J.CO opened its first branch in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Branches soon expanded to Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines.

Contemporain Foods, Inc. holds the exclusive franchise rights and operations of J.CO here in the Philippines.

Now that you have an idea about the origin of J.CO and what it can offer to Cebuanos, are you willing to give it a try?

If I were you, I’d give it a try.

Don’t take my word for it.

Experience J.CO for yourself.
